![]() So many businesses such as stores like Target, the Disney Store, and Hot Topic make millions of dollars selling Marvel merchandise, like clothing with Marvel characters on them, Marvel costumes, Marvel stuffed animals, Marvel action figures, etc. Marvel movies have also influenced commercial appetite. They grow up wanting to be these fictional characters and they want to have a positive effect on society. Kids often dress up on Halloween as Marvel characters, with some having Marvel-themed bedrooms and birthday parties. They have greatly impacted society, the media, and pop culture. To younger people especially, Marvel superheroes have always been very influential. People from all over the world and numerous generations are in love with the work that Marvel does. These movies have in turn directly impacted pop culture. With all of Marvel’s amazing and entertaining movies, they have created a golden standard for the superhero and adventure genres. Watching any one of their movies leaves you yearning to watch the rest. These superhero-based movies are big hits, in part because each movie tells a different superhero’s story yet all of them are deeply interconnected by one shared cinematic universe. Comic book movies are meant to be silly, but as stand-alone films they fail to invoke any sort of emotion in their audiences which causes them to fall flat.For many years now, Marvel has directed and produced over 20 amazing films worldwide over the past couple of decades, most based on the Marvel comics. Most great films have three things in common: a concise plot, something to say and a well-written script that makes the audience feel anything other than disappointment or boredom. Other recent superhero movies like “Captain Marvel,” “Shazam,” “Ant Man and the Wasp” and many others have been plagued by cliche writing, lazy humor and bad CGI. ![]() It’d be one thing if Thor 4 was some sort of anomaly, but it’s not. Unfortunately, Axel’s consciousness is depicted as a floating head that looks like it was cropped on an iPhone 5. Axel can project his consciousness to Thor even if he’s miles away from him, and he does just that. The CGI truly fell flat towards the end of the film where Thor is speaking to Axel, the son of his deceased friend, Heimdall. “Thor: Love and Thunder” uses a plethora of sub-par special effects to the point where the viewer feels a severe lack of engagement. If you think a multi-billion dollar company such as Marvel Comics would have acceptable special effects, you’d be mistaken. Part of suspending disbelief is having decent special effects, especially for superhero movies. Thor “found himself” by adopting a child, and Gorr’s story came to an end with no justice done for his character.įictional movies are supposed to transport you into their world and cause you to suspend disbelief.
